Dear Parents,
We are pleased to hear that your son has joined the Star Center boy’s competitive team this year and invite you to take the next step by joining the Star Center Boys’ Team Booster Club. The Booster Club was started years ago to help support the boys’ competitive gymnastics team. The club provides uniforms for its members, fundraising opportunities for meet expenses, and provides necessary support for the Star Center Invitational Meet held each January. In addition to the monetary benefits the Booster Club also helps build relationships among the team families.
This year the Booster Club is planning two main fundraisers to help families pay for the season’s fees, a Cartwheel-A-Thon and the Star Center Discount Card. Please go to the fundraising tab to view both of these optional opportunities.
Each year Star Center hosts the Star Center Invitational Meet in early January. This meet is very profitable for the booster club. The team parents play an important role through gaining corporate sponsorships, selling t-shirts, concessions, programs, and providing the volunteers necessary to staff the meet. The team raised over to $8,000 last year hosting this meet. The funds are used to offset the coaches’ fees, travel fees for out of town meets, meet fees for state or regional, clinics, uniforms, end-of-the-year parties, coaches conferences, etc.
The Booster Club will meet monthly from September through May. We’d love it if you would join the Booster Club and attend the meetings to give your input on the use of the funds raised. Booster Club dues are $50 per family and entitle your son to a competition uniform step-in top ($60-$70). This year competition shorts and Pommel Pants will be purchased through the gym by each athlete family. If you do not join the Booster Club you will need to purchase his entire uniform for approximately $120.
